"In your own home at last!!!" Part 2

In yesterday's blog I spoke about how you could use simple curtains to make your windows look appealing. Today I will look at the Centre Table.

Making your Centre Table the centre of attraction:

  1. It doesn't matter how old your Centre Table looks. You can make it look good with a very low budget. If your Centre Table looks cracked or scraped, you can put some Wood Varnish on it to give it a polished and new look. Purchase the Wood Varnish at Lowe's, The Home Depot or any local store in your area that specializes in selling Varnish.
You may be wondering what is Varnish? Varnish is a mixture of oils and                    natural resins.

       2. Apply Wood Varnish to your wood type furniture.

How to apply Wood Varnish to your Centre Table or any other wood type
          of furniture in your home.
  • Determine what kind of Varnish you want to use ( for example, Wood Varnish)
  • Buy the Varnish at the lowest cost possible.
  • Prepare your work area with rubber gloves, foam brush, Varnish, sand paper, dry cloth and your Centre Table and/ or other wood type of furniture.
  • Prepare the Centre Table and/ or other wood type of furniture for varnishing by dusting it off with a dry cloth and sanding it down with sand paper.
  • Apply the first coat of varnish with a foam brush to give an even coat.
  • Allow the first coat of Varnish to dry.
  • When the Varnish is dry, sand the Centre Table and/ or other wood type of furniture again.
  • Apply the next coat of Varnish.
  • Enjoy your the new look for your Centre Table and/ or other wood type of furniture
       3. You can opt to leave the varnished centre table as it is with a nice centre
piece on it or add a decorative cloth over it with a centre piece.

Note: Ensure that the decorative cloth has a colour that matches or
goes well together with the color scheme in your living room.

Below are some pictures of a varnished wood Centre Table and the same table being décored with a lace table cloth and a centre piece to top it off.

  1. Thanks for the tip about the varnish. Even though I knew about it. I totally forgot about it that I could refurbish an old furniture with varnish. I have an old table that I can give a face lift with some wood varnish so I shall be working on it one of these days.
